Sharp-tailed grouse display. Spring is here and the various grouse species in AK are making some noise and participating in various mating rituals. One of the most spectacular displays is that of the sharp-talied grouse on their lek sites, where many birds congregate and perform their act. Each year, small game biologists from ADF&G go to the field to conduct ruffed grouse drumming surveys and also sharp-tailed lek surveys.
