You're looking at peak trucker problem-solving. When one rig's air compressor quits, you don't always call a tow truck – you call your buddy. They're sharing air between the trucks just to keep the brakes working long enough to limp to a shop. It's definitely cheaper than a tow, but a whole lot more annoying for everyone else on the road.
